Now, let’s dive into the culinary highlights! The menu is a tribute to seasonal ingredients, with an array of dishes that cater to various palates. The Duck Confit Chilaquiles, served with a perfectly poached egg, is a standout dish that promises layers of flavor with each bite. The rich, savory pulled duck mingles beautifully with the vibrant accompaniments, resulting in a comforting yet gourmet sensation. I came here for brunch last weekend with a group and ordered the biscuits and friend fish sandwich. The biscuits were delicious and flaky! But the fish sandwich was overly salty and the fish was on the dry side. My friends seemed to enjoy the shrimp and grits so I'll get that next time.

I visited solo on a lovely Sunday around 12:30. The weather was a perfect 63°, so they retracted the roof, and the dining room was buzzing with energy, bright, and airy. Despite not having a reservation, I got seated right away in a cozy corner of their gorgeous main dining room I'd estimate the main dining room was about 90% full but the lounge area was pretty empty. Immediately, I was given water and they were super attentive with refills, but unfortunately, no one came to check on me or take even a drink order for over 15 minutes. I wouldn't recommend this place if I was in a hurry or with a group of impatient people. To drink I had their fresh squeezed orange juice and a mint tea. The orange juice they served had a kind of strange flavor, almost like onions. I asked for honey for my tea, and that took another 10 minutes to arrive-- it seems like they do everything in batches as the server who brought back my honey also was carrying several other pots. For food, I ordered the Duck Confit Chilaquiles (replacing the fried egg with egg whites) with a side of grits, and I was totally blown away. The food was absolutely delicious! Overall, the service was friendly but super slow, the ambiance was vibrant and beautiful, and the food was really quite tasty.

Been coming here for years, however, today was the first time having brunch. Met up with a few friends from grad school, and they were coming from Long Beach and the OC, so wanted to take them somewhere nice with an ambiance and quality food. Started off by ordering is a round of Cardinal Punch cocktails. It isn't on the menu, but was back in the day, and they still name it. Can't remember everything that is in it, think it's a bourbon base, but it is so flavorful. Just trust me, get a Cardinal Punch and let me know what you think. For food, we started with three entrees: the duck confit chilaquiles, short rib hash and wagyu burger. The chilaquiles were so good, the duck confit comes through, and that perfect egg on top, cutting into it and allowing the yolk to merge with everything underneath, so good! The short rib hash was what nice as the melt or the zucchini and peppers along with the egg and best all have little pops of flavor that marry in your mouth. The burger, which I felt was going to be your basic higher end burger, was above my expectations, probably due to that beer cheese that is used, along with the caramelized onions, which are always welcomed with any burger! So we split these asking four of us, then ordered a frittata and the pancakes. Pancakes are pancakes, I don't get overly excited for them, and they didn't blow my mind at all. The frittata was nice with the dollyps of goat cheese on top, but felt it needed something else to really take it to the next level. Overall, a very nice brunch, definitely try the chilaquiles, burger and hash, feel free to pass on the pancakes and frittata. And DEFINITELY order a Cardinal Punch and you can thank me later

We had an excellent brunch in this comfortable restaurant inside a historic building in downtown Los Angeles. We had their Modern Mimosa which uses a special clarified orange juice. It looks "unusual" without the traditional, look of OJ, but it was delicious, and what I would describe as an elegant look. We had their Modern Mimosa buttermilk biscuits, avocado salad, and frittata, all exceptional as was the service (thank you Gregg!). A place to revisit for sure.

First of all, the main dining room during brunch is gorgeous. The design is incredible, and the lighting was so beautiful. Definitely a great place to enjoy the ambiance! I saw a couple a few tables over brought a backgammon board to play while they enjoyed their coffee and I was so jealous. They do offer valet parking, but we were able to park easily on the street. Might not be so easy during dinner service, but doable for Saturday brunch! We were seated in one of the booths in the center, and I must say it is VERY close to the next table. The tables are maybe a couple inches apart, so it's basically communal seating at that point. It smells so good instantly, which made it tough to decide what to order! I went with the Short Rib Hash. It was delicious and savory and warm. It came with a poached egg, but I must say it was a little too undercooked. Most of the egg whites were still liquid which caused a soggy, watery mess at the bottom of the bowl. And trust me, I usually like my eggs lightly cooked. The dish itself was also not quite as I expected because it was served in larger chunks of meat and potato. The meat was so flavorful and tender, which went so well with the veggies and roasted red pepper puree! My boyfriend got the Fried Egg Sandwich which was so good, I'm glad I was able to steal a bite. The bacon was super smoky and chewy, with perfectly toasted bread, and salty fries. I would definitely try dinner here sometime, especially because the cocktail menu looks great!

I came here for my birthday to have brunch! It's such a cute a place! Even though it was a lot of people there, the service was still great! The modern mimosa is so refreshing and light! The shrimp and grits were good, but I wasn't a fan of the red sauce under the grits. If I ordered it again, I would ask for less. Bacon was superb. I definitely want to come back, but for dinner time or drinks. Brunch, maybe.

Decided to have my birthday dinner here with my friends and it just happened to be restaurant week too so we were able to enjoy this beautiful place on a budget. The drinks didn't disappoint, the service was excellent and the ambience sexy! Parking is valet only so get there early to snatch a street parking and do a little walk if you want. The place is used for weddings as well so you know it's gonna have great lighting with the open roof and view of the church from the restaurant. We didn't feel rushed at all and felt like we were catered and cared for. I'll definitely come back here again!

It's always a treat to dine at Redbird (which I've done numerous times), chef Neil Fraser's flagship restaurant close to City Hall. It's a lovely space, the former rectory building of a former cathedral Vibiana, now an event space also run by Fraser. The restaurant's main dining room is semi-outdoors, with a retractable tent-like roof, while the enclosed bar area also has dining tables. There's a pretty garden on the lower level that used to be open for dining, but now is just for private events. This is also the case with the courtyard outside Vibiana; they were setting up here for a wedding the day I visited. This courtyard was the main dining area during the pandemic. I visited most recently for the weekend brunch; dinner is served 6 days/week. I came at the 10 am opening and the place filled up fast. I started with the Dora the Flora mocktail with raspberry, ginger and lemon. Many tables were ordering the buttermilk biscuits, but I got a very tasty fig and raspberry milk bun. I always gravitate towards shrimp and grits if it's on the menu, but Redbird also had a congee dish with shrimp. My server said the dishes were very similar, even served in the same bowl, but I went with the congee because it had more veggies. Both come with a soft egg. Delish. I got a side of Weiser Pee Wee potatoes with crisp chorizo and rosemary, a very generous portion. The Basque baked eggs other tables were ordering looked very tasty. The restrooms are also very pretty. Overall a tasty and pretty quick meal in a beautiful setting. I had brunched at Manuela in the Arts District the day before, another beautiful restaurant, but I enjoyed Redbird's food a bit more,
